Summry

Round steel wire for ropes is a high-strength steel wire with circular cross-section, used to manufacture wire ropes for lifting, hoisting, mining, construction, cranes, elevators, and industrial applications. It offers durability, flexibility, tensile strength, and resistance to mechanical stress.

Why BIS Certificate is Mandatory for Round Steel wire for ropes ?

BIS certification is mandatory to ensure round steel wire meets Indian Standards for tensile strength, ductility, surface finish, and safety. These wires are used in load-bearing applications, so certification prevents accidents caused by substandard materials and ensures public and industrial safety.

What is BIS Certified for Round Steel wire for ropes ?

BIS certified specification for round steel wire for ropes is covered under IS 2266 / IS 3458 (as applicable). It defines requirements for chemical composition, tensile strength, elongation, diameter tolerance, surface quality, and testing methods to ensure reliable rope manufacturing.
